THE INNOVATIVE EASY GLAZING SYSTEM

FREIGEIST is setting new standards in urban masculine design combined with lightness and comfort. What’s more, some models from the current collection are leading the way when it comes to one specific detail which at first sight could almost be overlooked. But it never is. Because these models feature the specially developed Easy Glazing System (EGS) which has exceptional characteristics:

Innovation

The Easy Glazing System represents a major advancement in optics. As it makes the lenses even easier, quicker and more secure to glaze. Thanks to the Easy Glazing System, the lenses can be fitted into the frame by hand in just a few easy steps to create a visually appealing and stable pair of glasses.

STABILITY

Another innovation is the Torx screw which has been specially developed for FREIGEIST. It is the smallest and most inconspicuous screw of its type on the market, yet it still creates a secure and durable screw connection as a result of its special thread coating. It cannot slip out of place and this prevents damage to the frame.

Design

Despite its inconspicuous appearance, the attractive design of the innovative Torx screw makes it a stylish element of the eyewear frame. When used in combination with the Easy Glazing System, this tiny and ingenious screw makes it possible to create trailblazing eyewear design which unites comfort, stability and an individual look for men who are free spirits.

BIG BUT LIGHT

9 GRAM EYEWEAR

Eyewear for men with larger head sizes does not necessarily have to be heavy. The 9 gram eyewear frames from FREIGEIST offer everything that contemporary design demands: structural shapes reflective of modern architecture, a colour palette inspired by the premium car industry and a functionality which meets the requirements of the wearer perfectly.

THINK BIG THINK LIGHT

The 9 gram frames from FREIGEIST are some of the lightest eyewear frames that Eschenbach Optik offers - despite them being specially designed for larger head sizes. This achievement is not down to luck, but to meticulous calculation.

LIGHTWEIGHT - BUT UNCOMPROMISING

Every size of Freigeist frame is lightweight. There is no compromise. 9 gram eyewear - the name says it all. Because these successful FREIGEIST frames weigh just 9 grams without lenses. No more. As well as a functional yet visually appealing design, this guarantees exceptional comfort and makes these frames extremely comfortable to wear all day long.

THE SECRET: TITANIUM

The titanium plate is extremely thin and ultra light, yet it still exudes an authentic masculine cool which is characteristic of the FREIGEIST eyewear collection. These ultra light eyewear frames also guarantee exceptional stability, which meets the requirements of the wearer perfectly. What’s more, the full rim frame features a special titanium hinge which makes glazing much easier.

VERY LIGHT AND VERY STABLE

The extremely thin and light titanium plate offers outstanding stability combined with minimum weight. And the innovative Easy Glazing System hinges make glazing easier

MEN WHO DARE TO THINK BIG

Our free spirits

THE ART OF THE UNCONVENTIONAL

Free spirits have a passion for the type of art that doesn’t just impress at first glance, but art that not only has visual but also intellectual appeal and enjoys freedom from any form of convention. Here are two men who through their creative work are the epitome of the true free spirit.

Waldemar Bachmeier
Waldemar Bachmeier.

The pieces of wall and floor art created by Waldemar Bachmaier are characterised by their unusual and still presence. The central ideas behind these structural concepts are volume and surface, spatial structure and light. His works set out to unite these phenomena and to transform them into an aesthetic form, which at the same time implies a sense of friction.

The puristic interplay of shapes with clear lines and an ingenious deeper technical meaning, creates bold geometric sculptures and wall pieces, which in many cases derive their vigour through their two-dimensional or three-dimensional nature. By exploring the borderline between two and three-dimensionality, the floor pieces take on an intrinsic value of their very own. Contrasting materials such as glass and stone create an illusory unity of form. As in the other works, the artist questions the tension between form and material which can be experienced in a new spatial relationship.

Any demand for rigorous clarity of the artistic form, which sharpens the perception of the observer, is expressed only in terms of an instinct for scale and proportion.

Rudolf Henninger
Rudolf Henninger.

In the year 2000, after having worked as a successful architect for 25 years, Rudolf Henninger decided it was time for a change. He moved into a studio on Canada's east coast and instead of designing buildings, decided to create art out of building materials. Since then, the artist has divided his time between two continents: he lives and works both in Canada and in Middle Franconia in Bavaria. He combines the planning skills he acquired as an architect with the creativity of a sculptor - Rudolf Henninger does not allow any of the work to be outsourced externally and carries out every stage in its creation by himself.

Rudolph Henninger creates sculptures which communicate a clear and evocative message and this is demonstrated by the fact that they are displayed at numerous public places in Canada, the United States and Germany. In 2013 the Canadian government commissioned Rudolf Henninger to create two sculptures for a public park in the province of Nova Scotia. And since 2014, eight of his artworks have accompanied those travelling along the "Biberttalradweg" cycling route in Großhabersdorf, Bavaria.
